Our free #BeMoreDigital Fundraising Day takes place on 14 October 2021 with a jam-packed schedule full of digital fundraising sessions and workshops
Pivoting to digital fundraising has been perhaps the biggest challenge facing charities over the past two years. Charities had to switch from the stability of in-person fundraising to the brave new world of digital. Many of them took up the challenge – and did so in style.
Instead of throwing parties and hosting auctions, instead of tin buckets and door knocking, charities embraced digital, raising money with Zoom quizzes, livestreaming, Gaming for Good, QR codes on street corners, virtual raffles, and much more.
But some issues did arise. Charities may have been brimming with creative ideas, but they did not always have the digital skills to implement or optimise those ideas. There was a knowledge gap, which meant that charity workers had to pivot to digital without adequate training or preparation.
That’s why the development of digital skills will be the main focus of our third #BeMoreDigital Fundraising Day. The event takes place on 14 October 2021, running from 09:00 –13:30. It will be entirely virtual and totally free.
Charities of all shapes and sizes will have something to learn. Our sessions will be particularly helpful to community fundraisers, digital fundraisers, fundraising managers, those working with grants and legacy giving, and many others. Basically, if you are interested in learning about digital fundraising, #BeMoreDigital Fundraising Day 2021 will help.
The schedule for the day consists of two parallel streams, allowing you to select the sessions most relevant to your needs. There will be ten sessions in total, each lasting between 30 and 40 minutes, with a live Q&A at the end. Between sessions, attendees will have the chance to network on our virtual event platform, Airmeet.
Below are a few of the sessions that we have already confirmed, but plenty more exciting sessions will follow over the next few weeks. We look forward to seeing you on the day.
Jane Curtis, Founder and CEO at The Charity Event Specialist, will present an insightful session on how to keep your fundraising events on track. Jane will explain audience recruitment, audience retention, and how to raise more funds.
The session will also cover, among other things, the immediate changes you can make to improve fundraising events, how to adapt events to the current climate, how to convert attendees to increase donations, and so much more.
The event will appeal to charities of all sizes, but particularly to people in roles related to the running and managing of events. You need no specific knowledge of tech, but some prior fundraising event experience would be beneficial.
Our panel session features three people from charities at different stages of their hybrid fundraising journey: Dannii Hutchinns, Digital & Social Fundraiser at Cystic Fibrosis Trust; Annie Willmot, Head of Events and Comms at Connect Reading; and Sarah Johnson, Fundraising and Relationship Manager at Adoption Matters.
Hosted by our very own Lisa Chomette, Business Development Manager at Charity Digital, the discussion will uncover the many possibilities of hybrid fundraising. It will include details of the panel’s experiences running hybrid events and practical tips on how to fundraise before, during, and after the event.
The session will be wide-reaching,relevant to all charities and anyone involved in fundraising. No prior experience is necessary, nor is any particular digital expertise. All you need is a general interest in the future of hybrid fundraising.
Phillip Spedding, Senior Manager for Advisory at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), presents a session that helps charities find the money to develop new fundraising initiatives, including writing a strong fundraising bid and how to make grant-giving projects last longer.
CAF have vast experience working with funders. Phillip will show attendees how to find the best funders, how to package digital innovation proposals for the best chance of funding success, how to turn project funding into ongoing revenue, and more.
The session would be perfect for small and medium-sized charities. It would be particularly beneficial to anyone involved in applying for grants, grant fundraising, project funding, and any similar roles. You do not need any specific tech skills to make the most of the session.
