Facebook launches interactive full-screen Canvas ad offering

Following extensive testing, Facebook
is set to roll out a new ad product called Canvas – offering charities the option to produce interactive, full-screen ads through the social media
Canvas is an evolution of the earlier Carousel ads, which allowed users to swipe through multiple product or brand photos if they were interested in more information.
Bringing content to life
Canvas goes further by offering full-screen ads – essentially mini websites designed around specific products – which can include slideshows, descriptions, videos and a scrollable, interactive interface.
Facebook says Canvas has been built to ‘bring content to life in a fast-loading and seamless experience on Android and iOS’ and using the same technology used to display photos and videos quickly in the Facebook app, Canvas loads quickly, as much as 10 times faster than the standard mobile web.
No coding required
Importantly, the company has ensured Canvas ads are easy to make via a web-based interface with a real-time live preview, and no coding or design skills are necessary. Canvas is rolling out globally to any advertisers using Facebook’s Power Editor tool; interested marketers can try it out at canvas.facebook.com
