Force for Good programme returns to help charities in 2021

Charities have a mission and technology can help them achieve it. Whether it’s creating an app for epidemics, helping disabled children in Buenos Aires communicate with their loved ones, or connecting LGBTQ+ asylum seekers with critical support and services, digital technology has the power to change lives for the better.  

Each of these initiatives were developed with the help of J.P. Morgan’s Force for Good programme. Recognised as one of the best Tech for Good programmes in the UK, Force for Good aims to connect charities with a team of technologists from the bank, who can help develop effortless, sustainable, and scalable tech solutions to address their biggest challenges, now and in the future. 

With increasing demand, and diminishing resource, it has never been more important for charities to harness the skills and expertise of volunteers like J.P. Morgan’s technologists. Technology helps organisations to stay connected, to communicate with beneficiaries and service users alike, and provide much-needed services, from food and shelter to legal advice and education.

Whatever the cause, there is a technological solution that can help accelerate it, if charities can only find it, and learn to use it well.

How does Force for Good help? 

This is where J.P. Morgan comes in. Every year, J.P. Morgan invites socially-focused organisations to participate in Force for Good, matching the market-leading expertise of the firm’s technology employees with organisations to build them sustainable tech solutions. The programme’s goal is to accelerate the missions of charities and non-profit organisations, and uplift communities around the world, through the power of tech.  

Through each project, the Force for Good teams dedicate extensive time to really understand an organisation and research how to best solve the challenges that they are facing. The programme is not affiliated to any particular technology or product and is therefore able to offer tailored support, even adapting the technologies that organisations currently use to make it as easy as possible for them to use and implement. 

The programme ultimately aims to identify the most suitable technological solutions for charities that can be maintained long after the programme has ended, taking into account the unique needs of each organisation, its resources, its technical maturity, and its budget.   

Force for Good has already helped hundreds of charities in their digital transformation, including the International Rescue Committee. Force for Good 2021 

The Force for Good programme 2021 is now open for applications from charities looking to participate this coming autumn. Charities looking to increase their efficiency, effectiveness and reach, and to accelerate their missions can apply before 27 August 2021 for the opportunity to be matched with a team of technologists from J.P. Morgan.  

Charities selected to participate in the 2021 programme will work with a team of up to ten highly-skilled technologists, who will spend approximately four hours per week on their projects, over a four-to-eight-month period.
