Charities are being offered free listings for their awareness raising events, charity fun runs and other fundraising activities.
A fundraising agency is looking to create a comprehensive online list of charity and awareness raising events taking place in 2020.
Change Star’s Charity Calender is free for charities to use to promote their events to the public.
It already features 100 events and has been running for five years.
Charities can list up to five events for free, including fun runs, bike rides and awareness raising days, such as International Women’s Day.
Unicef and Macmillan are among charities to use the calendar. Lizzie Quill, Macmillan Events Manager says that 1.92 per cent of online traffic for its Ironman UK event came from Change Star’s calendar.
Events the calender is promoting this month include the Brighton Half Marathon on 23 February. This involves fundraising for The Sussex Beacon, which supports people living with HIV, as well as charity partners Macmillan, children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House and Alzheimer’s Society.
Another is Fairtytrade Foundation’s Fairtrade Fortnight, which launches on 24 February.
Already events for December 2020 have been listed including National Grief Awareness Week by the Good Grief Trust.
Another useful listing resource for charities is the website Awareness Days. This features international as well as UK listings for events such as Schools Football Week, which is currently taking place (3-7 February).
