ICO publishes GDPR FAQs for charities

The Information Commissioner has added a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR
) FAQs for charities to its website.

The FAQs cover consent including marketing consent, where opt in is required, what to include in privacy notices, special category data, security, and when a data protection officer is necessary. They also cover small charities with links to its dedicated helpline for small organisations, its self-assessment tool, and its 12 steps to take now checklist.
Charities are being encouraged to act now in order to ensure GDPR compliance
, ahead of the 25 May 2018 deadline.
