Kudos Software has created the apps to improve customer management and other areas of charity retail such as stock control, pricing as well as delivery and collections.
A series of mobile apps have been launched by Kudos Software for charity retailers  to help boost donations, improve efficiency and strengthen their relationships with supporters. The set of four charity retail apps are called Sign Up, POS, Barcode and Drive and have been introduced by Kudos Software. Sign Up allows donors and shoppers to register for gift aid via a tablet or phone. It also aims to help minimise data entry errors and ensure charities are compliant with General Data Protection Regulations. Meanwhile, the POS app is aimed at making sales options easier at pop-up locations and also aims to help charities add additional services such as loyalty schemes, multi-buy promotions and lottery tickets. Shop teams can also more easily price items and manage stock control via the Barcode app, according to Kudos. Drive has been created to offer postcode based planning and driver monitoring for furniture recycling. The aim is to generate fuel savings through better use of Google Maps, SMS reminders and donor sign up while on the road.
Yorkshire Children’s Centre and Peace Hospice Care have been involved in piloting Sign Up and Drive. "We are very excited to be launching this innovative proposition for the charity retail sector", said Kudos Commercial Director Sarah Dodd. "Our new apps are truly mobile and will be a huge benefit for charity shop managers and their volunteers, allowing technology to work for them where they need it ‚ keeping their tills clear for all-important purchases, encouraging more donor sign-ups, simplifying in-store processes to get stock on the rails quickly, improving efficiencies on-the-road and generating income wherever there’s an opportunity. Charity shops are increasingly turning to digital tech to improve the running of their retail operations. This includes using third party selling sites, targeting tech-savvy customers, online promotion and in store innovations such as encouraging contactless donations and sales.
