The Social CEOs awards is in its seventh year and offers awards to charity leaders that are excellin in social media use as well as championing digital technology.
Nominations have opened for the 2019 Social CEOs awards, to recognise charity leaders who are excelling in their use of technology and social media. The annual awards will list the top 30 charity bosses on using social media, with an overall winner named. In addition, there are also awards for the best senior leader, such as ‘head of’, best rising star within management and best trustee in their use of social media. Meanwhile, this year there are also four awards for digital leadership, covering, digital CEO, digital leaders such as a director, digital trustee and digital champion.
The digital champion award is open to anyone who works within a charity from volunteer level upwards who are championing digital technology in their charity and their sector. “To win in one of the social categories you need to be great at social media (obviously),” said a Social CEO awards statement “But the awards have always been about leadership as much as channels. As previous winners have shown, social media is a real test of how you communicate as a leader, how you influence key stakeholders and how willing you are to put yourself on the line to fight for your charity’s cause.”
“In the digital categories we’re looking for excellence of wider digital leadership. We’d love to have nominations from charity leaders who are blazing a trail in any area of digital. “For example: they could have led a digital transformation project, or helped their organisation increase its digital fundraising, or be a trustee who helped champion digital, getting the rest of their board and the charity to use it more effectively.” The deadline for nominations is 27 September, with the winner announced on 21 November. Teenage Cancer Trust CEO Kate Collins was named overall winner in the Social CEOs last year for her work across social media promoting the charity and motivating her staff by flagging up their achievements. The Social CEOs was founded by digital expert Zoe Amar and Matt Collins, founder of digital marketing agency Platypus Digital. It is now in its seventh year.
