Children’s charity Barnardo’s has selected the digital agency We Are Friday (Friday) to design and deliver its ambitious digital transformation strategy. The programme will support the introduction of the charity’s new 10-year corporate strategy, which is set to be launched in 2016 – the year of its 150th
Embracing digital change
Commenting on the appointment of Friday, the chief executive of Barnardo’s, Javed Khan, said:
“We have always been keen to embrace change in order to evolve with the times and do better for children. Every year Barnardo’s touches the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in communities across the UK through our services, shops and online.
“As we approach our 150th anniversary next year, the strategy we’ve asked Friday to develop with us will help us to improve our use of digital to engage ever more effectively with children, young people and families as well as with our staff, volunteers and supporters.”
Friday will help the charity stay up-to-date on the ever-evolving digital landscape.
The digital transformation programme hopes to “pave the way” for:
- Faster delivery of better services
- More effective use of data across the organisation
- The identification of new capabilities across all areas of its charitable work
Laying the groundwork
It is hoped that, by being a more digitally responsive organisation, Barnardo’s will “ultimately help to deliver better outcomes for more children”.
Friday’s chief executive, Alex Wright, said:
“We are very excited to work with Barnardo’s to design and define a digital transformation programme that amplifies their energy, delivers on their vision, and has real impact for children.
“We can see that infusing the charity with strategic agility, enabled by digital technology and working practices, will help the organisation to thrive in a digital world and lay the groundwork for the next 150 years of Barnardo’s.”
