Below is more information about each of the workshops.
Using email platforms effectively is not easy. Charities have to continuously ask themselves lots of questions. How user-friendly is the platform you use? How do you make the most of the features the platform offers? How do you track performance and improve?
In our workshop, Elizabeth Carter, Email Communication Manager at Charity Digital, offers attendees an in-depth masterclass in email marketing. Elizabeth works with clients every day to help them optimise, personalise, and generally improve their email marketing campaigns. She has worked in email marketing for more than 12 years, so she really knows her stuff!
Elizabeth will cover all of the basics, including common layouts, simple and effective design tips, and the best way to create engaging and clickable content. She’ll also cover the more complex elements of email marketing, such as understanding and using your metrics, reporting your campaigns, and the essentials of tracking.
Attendees will leave the interactive workshop with a greater sense of what they want to achieve with their email marketing campaigns. They’ll go away with a better understanding of how to build lists, avoid spam, improve accessibility, and so much more.
Our next workshop covers accessibility, an element of digital marketing that is more often talked about than acted upon. Making content accessible is essential for charities. People tend to think accessibility is expensive and complex, but this workshop will prove otherwise.
AbilityNet’s Jess Cahill, Accessibility and Usability Consultant, and Arnaud Ramgoolam, Accessibility and Usability Consultant, will show attendees some simple and easy steps to improve accessibility and become champions of inclusivity.
The workshop will be presentation-based, but it will also offer attendees the chance to take part in interactive exercises to put learnings into practice. Jess and Arnaud will highlight the key accessible marketing principles and teach you how to apply them on your website, social media channels, and other forms of communications.
The workshop will also show attendees, among other things, how to upload accessible images, how to write alt text, how to manage and track your content, and much more.
Small charities do not have the resources, time, and reach that larger charities possess. They often have team members balancing several roles, no dedicated social team, and less funds to invest in paid advertisements. Small charities can sometimes struggle on social media. But that does not need to be the case.
Rita Chadha, CEO, and Tilly Humphreys, Communications Coordinator at the Small Charities Coalition, offer some essential advice to small charities looking to boost social media. Their workshop will draw on their own experience and offer some essential best practice advice.
Attendees can expect to learn, among other things, the essentials of social media, the best way to present a consistent tone and voice, the intricacies of analytics and the best way to use them, and much more.
The brilliant hosts will also show small charities how to use limited time, money, and resources to increase their reach. This workshop is perfect for charities hoping to up their game, increase their following, and generally improve their social media output.
