Breast Cancer Care is overhauling he way it measures its social impact.
The charity has partnered with online social value reporting tool Impact Reporting
to help measure its effectiveness and improve the experience of its services users.
This tool is to be used to look at the charity’s impact on quality of life, behaviour change, improved wellbeing and increasing knowledge and awareness of breast cancer.
It will be rolled out across five UK wide Breast Cancer Care
support services including its support aimed at younger women as well as those diagnosed with secondary, incurable, breast cancer.
Volunteer impact measured
The tool will help the charity collect feedback and more accurately measure improvements in service users' quality of life and ability to self manage their care. Also being measured is the time donated by the charity’s volunteers.
“We put women diagnosed with breast cancer at the heart of everything we do, which means that we want to understand exactly how our support services help and the difference they make,” said David Crosby, Director of Service and Engagement at Breast Cancer Care.
“We were impressed with how Impact could be adapted to our specific objectives; it will help us to further enhance how we record, measure and analyse crucial data to ensure our support services continue to meet the needs of those who use them and to help us demonstrate the value of tailored support.”
