Charity Excellence Framework shortlisted for award

A digital management platform for Third Sector organisation boards and senior teams has been named as a finalist in the Heropreneurs Awards, the accolades set up by Heropreneurs
, the charity that helps former UK armed forces personnel to create and run their own businesses.
The free-to-use Charity Excellence Framework
is designed specifically to help charitable, not-for-profit organsations and community interest companies meet the management and governance challenges they increasingly face. It is shortlisted in the Award’s ‘Start-up of the Year’ category, along with cyber-defence solution firm Senseon
and virtual reality solutions firm Frontgrid
As reported by Charity Digital News
at the platform’s launch, the Charity Excellence Framework creates a unique model for each user organisation, based on its size, location, role and activities, optimises reporting for its specific priorities and individually links each of the hundreds of metrics reported to relevant resources from across the Web.
It comprises eight diagnostic questionnaires, reported via a dashboard, with a drill-down facility, query system, quality mark, and reporting that can be exported in action plan format. The Microsoft Azure cloud-based platform uses more than 40 metrics to track a range of issues, including performance optimisation, safeguarding, harassment and whistleblowing.
Subsequent rollout phases for the platform include the creation of a charity sector data store, online stakeholder engagement linked to the system, and a proposed ‘Fit-to-Practice’ accreditation for CEOs, its makers said.
“The sector is heavily regulated, it faces growing demand for services, and is under greater public scrutiny than ever before,” said its Founder Ian McLintock at its pilot launch, “but boards are often unpaid volunteers and many non-profits are too small to have the executive expertise to meet these demands.”
The Heropreneurs Awards are run in association with The Telegraph
and the Warwick Business School, and with support from the Ministry of Defence. Winners will be announced at a dinner on 14 November 2018 at the Plaisterers’ Hall in London.
