J.P. Morgan’s Force for Good Programme aligns the firm’s technology workers with causes for social good
This article is sponsored by JP Morgan and their Force for Good programme, which aims to help charities achieve their goals through the power of people and technology.
Technology is an incredibly powerful tool. It can help organisations to find more innovative ways to work. It helps to increase access to vital products and services. In the midst of a global crisis, it allows us to stay connected.
Technology is at the heart of successful, post-COVID-19 service delivery. Charities around the UK have found new digital channels as they work day and night to provide our communities with food, shelter, healthcare, education, and other much-needed services. As we move forward into an uncertain future, technology will allow the sector to rebuild and flourish.
But for too many charities, a lack of access to technology due to a lack of resources or funding can be a source of frustration.
We have recently highlighted ways of addressing this gap - specifically by drawing upon the expertise of digital professionals at no additional cost.
Every year, J.P. Morgan invites socially-focused organisations to participate in Force for Good: a social innovation programme that leverages the market-leading expertise of the firm’s technology employees to build sustainable tech solutions. The programme’s goal is to accelerate the missions of charities and nonprofit organisations and uplift communities around the world, through the power of tech.
To get more insight into the programme in action, you can also watch this video which follows the International Rescue Committee’s journey through Force for Good.
Organisations selected to participate in the programme will be aligned with a team of up to 10 highly-skilled technologists who will dedicate approximately 4 hours per week over an 8 month period to the project. They will be working to deliver a technical solution to a problem your organisation is facing in a way that will add value to both your project and the wider social sector.
The support is tailored to help charities with a variety of obstacles. The aim is to help them find and implement technology that’s not only going to help them better tackle their challenges, but also enable them to sustain and maintain the solution after the project has been completed.
“With a lot of incubators, you get some funds and a few mentorship sessions and are [largely] left alone. But with J.P. Morgan it’s really been side-by-side. We ideate together. It’s a true partnership."
