The pre-recorded webinars have been produced by the Media Trust to help charities improve their digital marketing activity.
The Media Trust has launched a series of free webinars aimed at improving how charities use digital in their marketing activity. The webinars are free to access via the Media Trust’s Resource Hub and form part of its summer digital resource programme, which is funded by the Marketing Trust and developed with Reason Digital. Each webinar can be accessed individually or as part of a series and are called Digital Marketing Strategy: The Basics, Content and Tactics and Digital Marketing Channels. Director of Charity Services for the Media Trust Jenny Walton said the webinars have been created to meet a digital skills gap in UK charities and ensure the voluntary sector can meet the changing nature of marketing.
Charity Digital’s 2019 annual whitepaper was released in February and showed that 40% of charities consider their trustees’ IT competence to be ‘below average. In addition, a third of charity trustees rate their own IT skills as ‘below average’. “We understand the challenges faced by the sector to adapt to an ever evolving digital space and this is the basis of why we have developed these free online digital resources as a response to the need to bridge the skills gap, ensuring they are free and accessible to charities of all sizes,” said Walton. Additional resources in the summer digital resource programme from Media Trust include a five part film series highlighting digital leadership stories among small charities. Another is a toolkit involving four downloadable templates to help charities develop a digital marketing strategy within their communications and marketing.
