Experts from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) join us for our latest webinar asking charities if they are taking the right precautions to safeguard themselves from cyber attacks.
According to the Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2019 from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS), over 44% of charities aren’t protecting themselves from cyber attacks because they simply don’t see themselves at being at risk. And while there has been a 15% increase in charities enforcing cyber security policies since the introduction of GDPR, the majority of charities remain vulnerable to security breaches, with the average successful attack costing organisations almost £10,000. But cost isn’t the only concern. Funders, supporters and beneficiaries are asking charities to show how they are protecting their data and seeking constant assurance that they are taking cyber security seriously.
