The Big Give offers £25,000 in match funding

Online match funding platform the Big Give is urging charities to take part in its Christmas Challenge event, which offers access to up to £25,000 in match funding. Charities wanting to take part have until 19 July, 5pm, to apply. This is a deadline extension to allow more charities to take part after the Big Give secured further funding. Those taking part can receive up to £25,000 in match funding for their digital fundraising campaign. The Big Give will also provide training support for charities as part of the Christmas Challenge, which involves hundreds of voluntary sector organisations campaigning to raise funds at the same time around the festive season.

Raise social media profile

The Big Give says that other benefits for charities include raising their social media profile and having the chance to link up with celebrities. “We are excited to have a bigger pot of match funds this year meaning that we can support even more charities,” said Alex Day, Director of the Big Give. “Last year 589 charities joined together to make a big splash in the Christmas Challenge, raising over £13 million collectively. This year we are looking for charities working in a number of areas including working with children, in health, international development, and the heritage sector - with some new champion funders on board for the first time this year including the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It is open to any UK registered charity with an annual income in excess of £25,000 according to their last filed accounts.
