We are very pleased to launch the agenda for our #BeMoreDigital 2020 conference!
What is the #BeMoreDigital 2020 conference?
The purpose of the conference is to encourage charities to #BeMoreDigital, as we work to equip charity delegates with the knowledge, skills and support they need to implement digital culture, tech and skills into their organisation and operations.
What is the aim of the conference?
Many charities can be scared or put off by the term ‘digital transformation’. Which is why we’re advocating taking a holistic approach and pushing our #BeMoreDigital pledge. Rather than focusing on top-down digital strategy or transformation, we want to focus on the actions that each of us can take to #BeMoreDigital. Digital technology should allow charities and organisations (including those with smaller operating budgets) to stretch their resources to help more people than ever.
What will the conference be about?
Our agenda has been built with this in mind - with 20 sessions split into 4 distinct streams: Growth, Service Delivery, Leadership, and Data. With 39 speakers (and counting!) each of these streams will host expert panels guiding thought leadership and setting benchmarks for the sector in 2020.
Who will be speaking at the event?
We’re excited to be hosting our biggest-ever panel of expert speakers from both the tech and charity sectors. You may have seen some of our previous speaker and partner announcements, but if not then you can catch up on them below:
You can browse a list of #BeMoreDigital speakers here, but this list is by no means exhaustive, with more speakers set to be announced in the near future. We’re pleased to welcome some of our longer-term partners, including digital transformation specialists, Trillium, cyber security experts from the National Cyber Security Center, and data-scientists for good, DataKind.
We’ll also be joined by a number of other charities of all sizes doing groundbreaking digital work, including Cancer Research UK, charity: water, and the Welcome Centre. They’ll be joined in conversation by speakers from a number of leading tech companies including Microsoft Dynamics for nonprofits specialists, m-hance and specialists in charity data analytics, Core Insights.
What are some of the sessions?
Zoe Amar & Jonathan Chevallier lead the opening plenary, which will introduce the theme and purpose of the conference - and will serve to emphasise why it’s important for charities to #BeMoreDigital in 2020.
There will then be sessions across four streams covering everything from creating killer content and using digital storytelling to build authenticity to using psychology to drive donor fundraising and building a more digitally-diverse organisation.
I’m travelling from outside of London. Is there any support available for me?
Part of our mission is to champion digital inclusion within the sector and to move charity discussion away from its sometimes London-centric mode. That’s why we’ve launched the #BeMoreDigital 2020 conference travel bursary, in order to make our March conference accessible for all UK organisations.
We want to make this conference as accessible as possible, and we do not want travel costs to prohibit charities from taking part. Digital technology should be a leveller - allowing charities and organisations with smaller operating budgets to stretch their resources to help more people than ever.
