On 1st October, the Heritage Digital consortium will be hosting our first big online event, #HeritageDigitalNow. Why should you sign up?
#HeritageDigitalNow will be taking place on 1st October 2020.
Many heritage organisations, whether involved in conservation, collections, archaeology or the natural world (to name a few examples) have had to quickly adapt to increased ways of digital working this year. From team or Trustee meetings on Zoom, to embracing new or more social media use, to digitisation of collections and new ways of engaging audiences; the pandemic has accelerated digital development in a number of ways.
#HeritageDigitalNow intends to start you on this journey.
With a focus on our 4 key themes of technology, rights, communications and marketing strategy, #HeritageDigitalNow will merge subject expertise with real-life examples from across the heritage sector. Attendees will gain insight into the what, why and how of utilising digital in ways that work for you and your organisation and be inspired to kickstart their digital strategy.
The full agenda will be released shortly; in the meantime these are the key topics you can expect to hear about:
Small group informal roundtable discussions with subject experts will be available to book at the end of the day, recreating an element of traditional conference networking.
The day will run across 2 streams, and delegates will be able to move between them depending on their session of interest; all sessions will be recorded for watching back after the event.
Heritage Digital, the National Lottery Heritage Fund supported programme run by The Heritage Alliance, Charity Digital, Media Trust and Naomi Korn Associates is creating high-quality free digital skills training resources between July 2020 and July 2021. The programme is open to the entire UK heritage sector; that means all heritage types across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, whether they are charities, private, independent or volunteer-run. Freelancers in the sector and furloughed staff are welcome to attend. This event is completely free.
