  • The aim of this workshop is to give charity trustees, board members, and governance professionals a clear understanding of how AI can be responsibly and effectively maximised at board level. Attendees will learn how AI can be applied to board meetings and discussions; from preparing agendas and papers to supporting informed, timely decision-making. The session will also explore how to harness AI in a way that strengthens governance, safeguards compliance and data protection, and upholds public trust. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with practical insights on how to use Ai appropriately to help their boards improve efficiency and focus more time on strategic, mission-driven priorities.

    Attendees can expect to learn:

    • Practical applications of AI in charity governance: See how AI can support boards and charity secretaries in preparing agendas and papers, improving meeting efficiency, and enabling trustees to focus more on mission-driven strategy rather than administration.

    • Ensuring compliance with data protection: Understand how AI can be used responsibly within the charity sector, safeguarding data, and maintaining transparency for stakeholders.

    • Minimising risk in a charitable context: Explore how to identify and manage risks such as confidentiality breaches, bias in decision-making, or inappropriate reliance on AI tools, ensuring that technology strengthens good governance and public trust.
