More than seven in ten charities reported that cyber security was extremely important to them, in our 2021 survey run in collaboration with the NCSC. When asked to rate how good they thought their approach to cyber security was, the answer told a different story, with charities rating their efforts to combat cyber crime as six out of ten.
The barriers to implementing resilient cyber security strategies and processes often come down to denial about the risk. Many smaller charities think it would never happen to them that breaches are the issue of larger organisations with more data and higher incomes. But the reality is that smaller charities are being targeted too. Cyber security breaches have serious repercussions, such as data breaches, financial losses, reputational damage and more. Even the smallest of charity needs to have strong measures in place to mitigate risk.
The session with the NCSC gives charities a chance to change the way cyber security works in a small- or medium-sized organisation... with the help of Lego. The hands-on session will allow charities to co-operate with peers in the sector, improving decision-making skills and choosing the right cyber security for them. The session will also include a guide through cyber security issues using the Decisions & Disruptions kits, which are designed to be immersive and fun.
Each attendee will learn how to make decisions as a team, considering potential threats, vulnerabilities, ongoing cyber attacks, and budget limitations. Come prepared to join an interactive session, where attendees will be using Lego to understand resilient cyber security and demonstrate the learnings from the session!
