According to the Charity Digital Skills report 2021, more than two-thirds of charities are planning to invest more in digital infrastructure and systems in the future. However, while investing in new programs is great, investing alone doesn’t guarantee digital success. Charities need to make sure they’ve got the strategies, cultures and infrastructures to underpin these changes.
Many charities are currently dependent on technology that no longer fits with their digital and data objectives. But as this is technology that they have used for years (‘legacy technology’), it remains in use. Organisations can become stuck with legacy systems that are so entrenched in their day-to-day operations that change becomes not only difficult but overwhelming. Many are unsure what steps to take to even begin changing old technology. Others are worried about what the journey will look like in terms of training, operations, service delivery and more. But reliance on such technology hinders productivity, frustrates services, and can even pose a cyber security risk. Change is undoubtedly necessary to combat these issues.
In this session, Alan Perestrello, Co-founder and Director of digital consultancy Trillium, will provide charities with a practical guide to taking the next step in replacing your legacy CRM platform. He will discuss how this can help your charity to meet its strategic goals, support people both inside and outside the organisation, and meet your technological needs. The session will help charities review and evaluate their existing technology, to see how it aligns with their goals, and to understand how to choose the right solution for their organisation’s unique requirements.
