As the world continues to move from local to global, in-person to remotely connected, how can charities build lasting relationships with supporters?
The big picture might currently feel bleak for charities. Greater regulation of data collection has had an impact on outreach opportunities. The fallout of a global pandemic and simultaneous advances in technology have resulted in changes in supporter behaviour and preferences. Data trends show an overall decline in the number of people supporting charitable causes. We now face a cost-of-living crisis, the impact of which continues to unfold.
But the loss of old opportunities presents new ones – charities have an opportunity to rethink how they engage with supporters. Digital has the potential to enable charities to build stronger, more meaningful, and more engaged relationships with supporters than could ever have been achieved prior to its dominance in our lives.
