In any fundraising initiative, the supporter journey is paramount. But with hybrid, there are inevitable differences between the two supporter paths. But both parties want to feel valued, included and engaged. Having the right technology is the key to success.
In 2021, the Armed Forces charity, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA), decided to take on a hybrid approach to their 13 Bridges Challenge. In their first ever hybrid initiative, the charity raise £76K. In comparison, the fully virtual 2020 event raised 12K, proving the importance of targeting both physical and virtual donors. Being their first hybrid event there was challenges along the way. However, with a fantastic turnout both physically and virtually, the event was a huge success. Using solutions from Enthuse, a key challenge SSAFA tackled was ensuring that their supporters remained engaged and felt part of a community, no matter how they were participating.
In this session, SSAFA and Enthuse will be sharing how to run a successful hybrid fundraising event using the right digital tools. They’ll be discussing the challenges they faced trying to engage both physical and virtual participants and the digital solutions that helped them overcome these. The session will show how SSAFA used platforms such as Strava and digital leaderboards, alongside Enthuse solutions, to create an impactful and accessible donor experience.
