Before posting something online, what checks do you do? Most of us probably check for typos, grammar mistakes or make sure any links work. However, if you want to make sure your content is accessible, there’s a few more simple and easy steps you need to know.

Charities often want to champion inclusivity. They want to put out digital content that reaches their diverse audiences, donors and service users. But it can sometimes be difficult to implement new uploading principles without it seeming like a complete overhaul. Luckily, creating accessible content is a lot easier than you think. A great place to start is including accessible design practices in your marketing and comms. If you want to make your content more inclusive and would like to learn more about accessible design, then this is the workshop for you!

The workshop will be a presentation-based session, also offering the opportunity to take part in some interactive exercises to put your learnings into practice. Expert workshops trainers, AbilityNet, will be teaching you the key accessible marketing principles and how you can use them to create inclusive content on your website, social media channels and more. The workshop will cover:

  • How the accessible marketing principles work in practice
  • What to consider when uploading an image
  • How to write Alt text
  • How to manage your accessible content
  • And more!

Who is this workshop for?

  • Those with a low – medium understanding of technology
  • For this workshop, any tech level would be suitable, as accessible marketing principles can be implemented at any tech level!
  • Micro (<£10K income) - Supermajor (<£100M income) sized charities
  • Those working in Digital Innovation, General Management, Marketing/Communications and Fundraising in Manager, Executive, Consultant or Volunteer roles.
