The landscape of digital funding for charities is riddled with challenges, characterised by a patchwork of fragmented resources that are difficult to access. While there are focused efforts from a small number of grant makers and funders to reimagine digital funding strategies, we see a time lag between these early adopters and the wider funding community.
The truth remains that the problems are deeply rooted in the system.
Dot Project advocates for fundamental changes on multiple fronts. First and foremost, there is a pressing need for a redesign of funding mechanisms, ensuring they are more inclusive, streamlined, and accessible. Equally important is the necessity for organisations to gain a comprehensive understanding of digital costs, demystifying complexities that often deter them from seeking digital funding. Community involvement and participation in grant-making processes is vital.
