Simplifying and improving online giving experiences can boost fundraising revenue by significant amounts. At a time when donors are more online than ever before, it is essential that charities provide a seamless experience to make donating easier for donors, matching the ease with which they shop, share, and socialise online. At a time when charity funds are uncertain, removing any potential barriers to giving is also crucial.

In this panel session, we will explore the difference that the right donor journeys can make to our fundraising and how charities can boost giving whilst meeting the needs of their supporters. Attendees will learn about the evolution of donor journeys, the factors they should take into account, and what donor journeys will look like in the future.

🔶1.35pm - 2.10pm - Harnessing AI for Fundraising:  Trends and strategies for non-profit teams - Christina Macchiarola - Global Engagement and Content Lead, Tech for Social Impact at Microsoft

In the rapidly evolving landscape of nonprofit fundraising, staying ahead of the curve is crucial. Join us for an insightful session where we delve into the latest trends in fundraising and explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way nonprofits engage with donors, optimize campaigns, and drive impact.

🔶 2.15pm - 3.15pm - Panel Discussion - The evolution of event fundraising - Adam Stanier, Co founder and COO at EMMA Live and Lorna Poultney, Special Events Lead at Parkinsons UK

Fundraising events are a vital revenue stream for charities, with both appetite for participation and income only growing. However, it is also an area that has seen a tremendous amount of change, as well as growth, with the rise and fall and rise again of virtual events, the post-pandemic return of physical events, and innovations in how we donate.

In this panel session, in partnership with Emma Live, we will discuss how fundraising has transformed and how events have changed with it. We will explore the past, present, and future of fundraising events, envisioning how charities can reduce complexity and save time, while identifying opportunities for innovation in the future.

🔶 3.20pm - 4.00pm - Trends in user journeys in 2025 - Angela Richmond, Research & Insight Specialist at Redfox Research

Angela will explore some of the key trends we can expect to see in donor and supporter journeys in 2025, and share advice on building in the perspective of both current and future supporters as you design journeys.

🔶 2.15pm - 3.15pm - Panel Discussion - How to protect and optimise social giving in 2025 - Victoria Read, Senior Customer Success Manager at Funraisin and Jess Burden, Virtual Fundraising Events Manager at British Red Cross

Social media has long been a critical tool for charities, helping them to raise awareness for their cause and expand their reach across the globe. It has also become an important revenue source for many organisations, helping them to make fundraising simple and accessible for their supporters, whether they’re using in-built donation tools for their own drive or sharing a wider campaign.

In this panel discussion, we share advice to help charities make the most of social giving. Panellists will discuss current social media trends, the tools that drive donations, and how social media feeds into their overall fundraising strategy.

🔶 3.20pm - 4.00pm - How to write a fundraising bid - Amy Ross, Senior Advisor,  Impact Accelerator at Charities Aid Foundation

We are also delighted to be running a workshop outside of the main stream (by application only):

🔶 10.15am - 11.15am We’re losing ‘em! - Discovering why people don’t donate with Eoghan Beecher, Country Director at iRaiser

No online fundraising page converts at 100% and there will always be visitors to your donation funnel that don’t end up giving there and then. As fundraisers, our job is to understand why someone may not have given and understanding how we can increase conversions either immediately, or over a longer period. Using analysis of UX and traffic, we can understand where drop off points exist and what techniques the different categories of visitor will respond to.

This workshop is aimed with anyone who is involved with fundraising online, either through managing donation pages, or handling the inbound traffic and marketing campaigns.
