Charity Digital Academy: Managing your M365 tenant – an introduction to the admin portal

Microsoft 365 offers huge possibilities. It helps charities with email, file storage, and provides plenty of productivity applications that can streamlines your charity. Registered charities in the UK are eligible for ten fully donated Business Premium licenses and this session aims to help you set up, start using, and make the most of Microsoft 365 packages.
This three-hour session provides an overview of the key admin tasks you are likely to need to use to set up and maintain 365 for your organisation. The first section will cover account permissions and the different admin centres. It’ll dive into licences and billing.
The second section covers the essentials of account admin. You’ll learn, among other things, how to set-up accounts and allocate licences, how to block sign-in, reset passwords and deleting accounts, the basics of multi-factor authentication, the need-to-know info around shared mailboxes, and so much more.
The third section will explore specific storage options. You’ll learn how to structure SharePoint, how to navigate SharePoint permissions, how to sync OneDrive and SharePoint, the basics of Teams admin, and so much more.
And, finally, the fourth section covers security essentials and best practice. You’ll learn, among other things, how to respond to a hacked account, how to deal with quarantined email, a brief introduction to the security features included with your Business Premium Licence (Microsoft Defender, Intune and Device Management) to help charities to manage and secure their tenants.
This course is part of a three-part series. Join future sessions to learn more about the range of productivity applications to help your organisation be more efficient and effective.
