Our latest survey aims to understand the challenges and opportunities in charity service delivery and how charities can deliver more impact for their service users
The early 2020s have been a challenging time for charities, having to meet rising demand for services with fewer resources and smaller budgets. Fortunately, charities have proven themselves adept at navigating difficult circumstances, from recessions to pandemics, and have adapted with digital technology, whether they moved services online or made fundraising more flexible.
In 2025, however, the question is: what next? When it comes to service delivery, in particular, charities have been fighting proverbial fires, but fighting fires is not necessarily conducive to solving the issues charities exist to address.
Charity services can become static over time. What worked even a year ago may not work now. And with demand for services still rising, and service user needs evolving, charities need to ask themselves whether the services they deliver are fit for purpose – and how they can be improved.
We want to understand more about the challenges and opportunities within charity service delivery. As champions of digital technology in the charity sector, we want to know how digital supports service delivery and what more can be done to make charity services more empowering and tailored to the needs of beneficiaries.
To learn more, Charity Digital are conducting a new survey to support our Reimagining Services campaign, launched in 2025 to help charities deliver the best services possible with the resources they have. The survey, which takes around 10 minutes to complete, asks charities about the service delivery challenges they face and what can be done to make it more effective in the future, whether it’s embracing artificial intelligence or improving feedback mechanisms.
Findings from the survey will be published anonymously in a report to help us identify trends and offer next steps for charities to improve their service delivery and drive more impact in their communities.
