Listen to our latest podcast episode, where we’re discussing how you can make sure cyber security is front of mind post COVID-19
The Charity Digital Podcast returns for its latest instalment, with this episode looking at the future of cybersecurity for charities in a post-COVID-19 world. Our regular podcast highlights the challenges facing the sector, and the successful organisations that overcome them.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, charities have come a long way when it comes to digital. Organisations have been bold, taken risks and embraced digital changes like never before. Whilst this has allowed organisations to function, with many charities operating remotely and on reduced staff numbers, it’s easy for cybersecurity to slip down your priority list.
Unfortunately, there are always cyber criminals lurking who are ready to take advantage of vulnerabilities that arise from changing situations. With digital use in the charity sector on a sharp increase, this only gives cybercriminals more to work with.
In this week’s podcast episode, we’re joined by Cub Llewelyn Davis (Charity Sector Lead at the National Centre Cyber Security) and Jan Rock (CEO and Case Manager at Matrix Neurological) who discuss how and why charities need to be more vigilant when with their cybersecurity as we approach a post-COVID-19 world.
Our speakers discuss the idea that, while charities may be less at risk from COVID-19 now, they’re still facing another risk- cybersecurity threats. As we move into what’s shaping up to be a potentially office-free future for many charities, how can we all ensure cybersecurity is front of mind and not fall victim to cybercrime. But, as Cub explains, there are always ways to be one step ahead of cybercriminals. He shares with us some of the common incidents he’s been seeing and what can be done to ensure charities are as resilient as possible as we enter this new working era. With Matrix Neurological dealing with sensitive and private data on a daily basis, cyber security has been something Jan has had to learn. She shares her experiences, what she’ll be taking into the future and even her fear of the cloud.
