Our ’Digital Strategy on a Plate’ programme will help you develop the skills and tools you need to take ownership of your charity’s digital strategy.
Throughout February we are running a number of pieces on digital strategy and culture. This is because these are often neglected topics within the charity sector. According to the Charity Digital Skills Report 2019, 52% of charities don’t have a digital strategy. On the Charity Digital Podcast, we’ve discussed whether charities need a digital strategy (spoiler alert: we think they do!) and laid out some simple steps towards building one.
To some extent, all of these articles and podcasts have touched on the importance of a bespoke strategy: one developed from experience. You know your organisations’ needs, and those of your service users, better than anyone else. It can be tempting to reach for an ‘out-of-the-box’ template for digital strategy. But the truth is a successful strategy will need to be agile and malleable - forged by and sensitive to the particular requirements of your charity and its mission.
With this in mind, we’re pleased to announce the launch of ‘Digital Strategy on a Plate’ - a new initiative designed to enable us to work with charities to help them build the skills they need to establish and take ownership of their own digital strategy: one that is developed by their people in response to their own unique needs.
Through this initiative, we’ll guide a cohort of peer charities through a series of seven sessions led by digital strategy experts designed to help charities develop their own digital strategy through a combination of facilitator-led learning and peer support.
The programme of web conference sessions will be supplemented with a range of additional learning exercises to help you develop and hone your digital strategy skills. By the end of the programme, you will have a workable digital strategy, specifically designed for your organisation, as well as the tools and skills to modify and grow this strategy to suit your future strategic needs.
The ‘Digital Strategy on a Plate’ programme offers threefold advantages for charities:
