Our regular podcast returns for its latest instalment to discuss how charities, in the wake of COVID-19, can begin to work towards the long-term.
The Charity Digital Podcast returns this week for another episode, this time looking forward from COVID-19 at how charities can work towards the long-term. Our regular podcast highlights the challenges facing the sector and the successful organisations that overcome them.
As the dust begins to settle, charities may be wondering what the future holds. Now that we are past the initial upheaval, there is time for reflection: what has happened so far, what does the future look like and what can be learnt from your charity’s response to COVID-19?
Although many of us are still learning and working things out, this period has undoubtedly sparked changes in organisations everywhere- specifically in their use of digital. Examining the changes that have been made to your organisation is key to future growth, as we move forward equipped with greater knowledge and clarity than before.
In this week’s episode, our three guests come together to discuss their own learnings from COVID-19 and how they believe organisations can begin to work towards both an immediate and long-term future considering COVID-19 and their own responses. We’re joined by Vicky Charles (Associate Director of Technology at CLIC Sargent), Simon Davey (Change Consultant) and Barry Antwi (Technical Manager at Coopsys) who all offer professional insight into how charities can harness what they’ve learnt and take this forward into their long-term goals and strategies.
Transformation has been seismic for most organisations. Yet our guests agree that, despite the unprecedented and unfortunate circumstances surrounding these changes, the recent pandemic has been a catalyst for a positive change in many charities when it comes to digital. Although a bittersweet reality to accept, COVID-19 has forced charities to be more digital, which can only be a positive thing for the future. Now the reactive stage has passed, our guests discuss how we as charities can begin to look ahead and plan using the new skills, tools and knowledge gained over this period.
This does not come without its difficulties. How can organisations maintain digital changes and why should they? How can charities continue to provide their services to those who are digitally excluded and how can charities really build on what they’ve learnt, in order to go forward into a stronger future? This podcast discusses all this and more, as the conversation aims to give charities smart and useful advice as they look towards the long-term.
