The public are being urged to use downloadable templates to spread messages of thanks across social media and raise money for charity.
Disabilities charity the Together Trust is staging an innovative social media campaign, urging people to let others know why they are thankful during the Covid-19 campaign.
The Greater Manchester based charity has produced downloadable templates saying “I am thankful for….” and urging the public to write in a personal comment.
They are then urged to share a picture of them holding the message on social media, use the hashtag #TeamTogetherTrust and nominate friends and family to take part to grow the campaign.
Participants are then urged to make a donation to the Together Trust.
The social media push is taking place from this week, to coincide with global fundraising day Giving Tuesday (May 5). The charity adds that it was looking to create an innovative fundraising push online as “digital campaigns are now the focus for engagement with the community and businesses”.
Among those to already take part is Together Trust staff member Julie and her grandson Cailyn, who have used the campaign to thank the support provided by groups including Sport England.

Together Trust Head of Fundraising Kaylie Chapman said: “At the moment, like many other charities, we need to raise additional funds. But we’re aware these are scary times for many people and it can be difficult to escape all the worries we’re all carrying around.
“That’s why we want our ‘I am thankful for… campaign’ to be one that sparks everyday positivity in people’s lives. If people find something has brought them joy in their day we’d like to help them celebrate it. It could be something small, like finding flour in the shops for the first time in weeks, or something big like a new baby arriving in the family.
“In these difficult times we’re aiming to help our supporters focus on what gives them happiness. “
The campaign is being run into June to help support the charity’s support services for children and families in the North West of England. The charity works with people with disabilities, autism, complex needs and experience of care.
